Nolan N70-2 X Review – The New High-End Off-Road Helmet

The Nolan N70-2 X represents the new high-end off-road and off-road crossover from Nolan. It is the first on-off helmet on the market with a removable protective chin guard.

Characterized by its off-road-inspired design, its numerous technical features and its good availability of colors make it a wonderful choice. If that sounds interesting, let’s jump into it!

Nolan N70-2 X – A Helmet With Pretty Amazing Features

The Nolan N70-2 X stands out for its reduced volume, thanks to the two external shell sizes.

Coming in with an ultra-wide screen, its large visor is compatible with the use of glasses (even with the screen installed and open). It features a VPS sun visor, which is adjustable in multiple positions and equipped with an automatic folding system.

The upper ventilation system has the famous AirBooster Technology. The retention system with micrometric adjustment rocks a double lever Microlock2. In addition to that, its innovative inner comfort padding Clima Comfort has micro-perforated fabrics and adjustable neck protector.

All things considered, this makes the Nolan N70-2 X a reference for off-road and an off-road crossover suitable for the most demanding riders out there.

Sizes And Prices Of The Nolan N70-2 X

Available in sizes from XXS to XXXL, the pricing of the Nolan N70-2 X may vary.

You may choose three different versions:

  • Special, which would be $289,99, 260€ or £265 pounds.
  • Classic, which would be $329,99, 299€ or £309 pounds.
  • Great Alps, which would be $374,99, 349€ or £355 pounds.

It is definitely a budget helmet considering how many features it has. However, our Nolan N70-2 X review includes a good look into the technical characteristics.

What About The Technical Characteristics?

The Nolan N70-2 X is safe, since it has a removable protective chin guard that passes the homologation tests provided by the UN/ECE regulations for full-face helmets.

The large surface of the anti-scratch screen (scratch resistant) allows greater vision even from the side, thus guaranteeing maximum driving comfort and increasing safety.

In addition to that, the large visor allows the use of the helmet with glasses, even with the visor installed and open.

An Incredible Pinlock Anti-Mist System

The patented regulation system allows the pinlock to be regulated, acting from the outside of the visor without the need to remove it.

The silicone profile allows, firstly, to increase the airflow between the exterior and interior, further reducing the risk of fogging. Secondly, it reduces the risk of scratches on the visor.

The Nolan N70-2 X offers a UV protection up to 400 nanometers. It can be easily disassembled for maintenance and cleaning and maybe adjusted in multiple positions.

The drive system allows it to be automatically retracted into the non-use position, thus simplifying possible emergency maneuvers derived from the need to quickly restore maximum visibility offered by the visor.

The Nolan N70-2 X Is All About Safety

The Nolan N70-2 X features a cervical protector that is removable, washable and equipped with an exclusive regulation system.

Thus, it is easy for it to adapt to the different morphologies of the riders and to the multiple configurations that derive from the different driving positions.

The helmet is also prepared and approved for the installation of the N-Com communication system and the innovative ESS (Emergency Stop Signal).

The Ventilation System Is Great Thanks To The Airbooster Technology

The exclusive upper ventilation system features AirBooster Technology.

This leads to ensures optimum ventilation where the pilot’s head needs it most: in fact, air is extracted from the upper air intake and is forced towards the most critical areas. This will guarantee maximum comfort even in extreme driving conditions.

The ventilation system is also made up of:

  • The air intake of the chin guard that offers ventilation at the height of the mouth and directs the air directly to the visor, reducing fogging.
  • Rear extractors allow the expulsion of hot and stale air, guaranteeing optimum comfort inside the helmet.

The Nolan N70- 2 X Features An Advanced Retention System

The Nolan N70-2 X comes in with a patented retention system with double lever micrometric regulation.

It is made up of an ergonomic opening lever made of thermoplastic material and a second toothed and retention lever, in aluminum.

The toothed lever releases the micrometric clamp, so the holding strap can only be opened after the opening lever has rotated. Isn’t that brilliant?

Support straps are integrated in the lining. Therefore, the interior is removable and washable. This also works to support a better fit for any rider.

The inside has a new padding concept that has been made with dual-density micro-perforated fabrics and combined with the AirBooster Technology upper ventilation system.

This favors air diffusion in the upper area of the pilot’s head. The confirmation of the chin strap facilitates the closure of the chin guard and protects from annoying air infiltration in the chin area.

Nolan N70-2 X: a great helmet for off-road riders

If you are looking for a high-end helmet for off-road, the Nolan N70-2 X might be a well worth option to look into.

Although it does not have the most advanced features, it certainly represents a great effort from Nolan to keep things on a budget.

All things considered, this is certainly a great choice for any off-road rider. Even the most demanding ones!

MATRIX ALPHA PRO THE ULTRA MODULAR: speculations, release date, and review

We are just as excited as you about the arrival of the Matrix Alpha Pro Helmet by Matrix Helmets, the UltraModular.

As we continue on the hunt for new promising products when it comes to Motorcycle helmets, we needed to tell you all the rumors, speculations news, and our review on this one.

We are interested in Military style helmets, Si-Fi futuristic helmets, helmets with heads-up display Tony Stark style and many more. Recently we stumbled upon this Matrix Alpha Pro Helmet concept by Matrix Helmets: the UltraModular, as they call it, on one of their Social Media outlets.

They Suggest this helmet will be packed with new features and technology

So here we are with the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular: rumors, speculations, release date, and you will find out why they call it Pro If that sounds interesting, let’s jump into it!

Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular: An Unusual But Amazing Design

The shape of the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular looks pretty unusual for a helmet. It reminds us of the Cybertruck, released by Elon Musk just recently. Could this be a perfect match for a Cyberquad or a CyberBike? It could indeed. Those are future releases, so let’s dig in and see a glimpse of what we may see with this amazing looking helmet for 2020.

Here at Bikers Insider, we decided to approach the CEO and Founder of the company, Pavel Vlasov, to get some information on Matrix Alpha Pro and what they’ve got for us. There is a lot of speculation around this helmet, but here is what we actually managed to find out from Matrix.

This will be the debut for matrix helmets, as it is the first time they are going to release a full face ECE helmet. Thus, it is a great challenge for Matrix, as in such a saturated market it’s hard to stand out. That is the truest when it comes to young companies as Matrix Helmets It costs over 250k to develop a basic ECE helmet model Pavel says, We are not taking into account the price of the rest of the innovation. So it’s truly a leap of faith for the company.

Fierce competition around the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular

In order to truly compete with big companies, it is not enough just to make another ECE helmet, in the beginning of research and development of Matrix Alpha Pro Matrix’s team knew this and began by brainstorming ideas and researching the market. Asking customers, friends, and using social media on what is lacking in modern helmets. What can be improved and what do people think could be groundbreaking ideas.

Modern riders seem to want more functionality from their helmets, Uniqueness and new features, pro riders want better performance and user experience. There are also a few challenges and issues modern riders face when it comes to using a motorcycle helmet on various conditions, and here are some of them:

  1. One of these issues and it’s a huge one, the issue with visors fogging up despite pin-lock and other technologies.

2. The streets of big cities are getting more and more pollution, and there are a lot of people suffering from hayfever, seriously affected by pollen when riding out. Those are elements to factor in.

Another key question is: what if a biker has two or three different bikes, which is not uncommon? We all know that you won’t put a full face sports helmet when riding a Harley, or a Motocross lid when riding your favorite naked Yama.

What if you could have one helmet that can be transformed into any of the existing riding styles? Street, offroad, touring, classic, high-performance bike, or even a helmet for track days. That would be simply amazing.

Matrix’s new helmet takes into account riders’ needs

With that in mind, the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular wants to tick all those boxes. They want to produce a helmet that represents the answer to what is missing in the market to fill the gap.

The idea is to make a modular helmet that you can adapt for every riding style. A all-in-one solution with full face and open face, by making a removable front part. This will allow to swap it for a totally different front part, add goggles, and peak to it. A game-changer. With this one, you might commute on your bike using the street mode, and use the offroad mode on a track during the weekend by switching front and adding those extra parts. All of that with the same helmet. Brilliant.

Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular features a clever design

The street version will have a built-in cozy high ventilated respo mask, that will totally eliminate any fogging on the visor. You may remove it at any time, which is definitely something quite convenient.

And The most exciting part in my view is a rear Spoiler The Aero Wing © Check this out:

The rear spoiler also called the Aero Wing ©, in an adjustable spoiler, it will have three positions that would allow you to improve your aerodynamics, turbulence, and overall performance whilst riding. this is Huge, and here is why they call it PRO

Alpha Pro helmet would be an awesome find for kind of riders that are experienced to the level so that every little detail makes a huge difference, riders who know how important it is to check how the new helmet fits into the airflow over the bike when they tuck behind the windscreen. For riders who changing lanes at high speed just my dipping a shoulder and changing the airflow for a split second, this helmet will be a game-changer!

If you are on a track, you can set it to the beast mode by lowering the wing to allow maximum aerodynamic performance. This will lead to maximum vent airflow and least drag. We believe this feature might very well disrupt the current perspective on the motorcycle helmet.

Questions and rumors regarding the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular

Our team at Bikers Insider always wants to go above and beyond. Thus, here are some questions we asked, that address the rumors and speculations around the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular.

We want to know about a built-in camera, or the sweet addition of a built-in Bluetooth system that everyone wants in their helmet.

Answer: we considered to do all this inside the helmet but when it comes to electronics you need a lot of research and development, we realized that the price of the end product would be then over £1000. We really didn’t want to build something just for a few who can afford such an expensive helmet or to develop a helmet that would have low-quality components in, Answer is clear: our task is to make helmet compatible with the best communication units in the world. and there are few heads-up display and Camera ADD ON technologies emerging now such as EyeRide HUD or REVAN

For that reason, the tech that they want to include is pretty simple, and won’t be costly to develop. However, it will make a huge difference for any user. They are working with great companies like SENA, that have perfect communication solutions for a helmet that works absolutely fantastic. They are also working with companies that make rear and from view cameras that can fit any helmet so customers can buy that as an addition.

We are sure that the Matrix Alpha Pro The UltraModular will be an amazing helmet. It was about time that someone created something like this, and we only have to wait a little bit more to enjoy what will certainly be a great product.

Nolan N44 Motorcycle Helmet Review – A Timeless Classic!

Nolan is a big player in the crossover motorcycle helmet market these days. Actually, they’ve been in this game since the 1970s, which gives them quite a big track record. As motorcycling is getting more popular, so are the requirements for helmets getting more demanding. Nolan is that one company with this in mind, so they have many “crossover” or modular helmets in their lineup. One such helmet is the timeless Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet!

Released in Autumn of 2013, the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet is actually one of the best modular helmets around! Great fit, awesome ventilation and decent noise control, coupled with a unique design for an affordable price are just some of the awesome features you can get with this crossover helmet. Not to mention that you can change this helmet between six different configurations!

Let’s dive into the Nolan N44 helmet, and see why is it such a timeless classic even after 6 long years!

Nolan N44 Motorcycle Helmet Review – Features

Down below are the main features of the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet!

Here are all the main features to consider when looking into the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet:

  • Light and durable polycarbonate shell
  • Weighs 3,73 lbs (1,69 kg)
  • Very large field of view
  • Six different configurations
  • ECE and DOT certifications
  • Pinlock-ready face shield with anti-fog coating and UV400 protection
  • Internal sun visor
  • Removable and washable comfort liner
  • Microlock2 chin strap system
  • Airbooster ventilation system

Now, let’s delve in the main components of this awesome helmet!

Design & Quality

Nolan-N44-motorcycle-helmet
Nolan-N44-motorcycle-helmet

The Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet features a polycarbonate shell, which is light and very durable. Because of this, the helmet will be quite comfortable to wear in longer periods. That applies to most of the riders, something we will discuss later.

The helmet itself feels high-quality when you hold it in your hands. All the removable parts feel high-quality, and right in place. When you put some of the modular parts on the helmet, they fit quite nicely, and you actually feel safe while wearing it. Not to mention the vents that feel quite precisely made too!

Configurations & Visibility

Nolan N44 helmet features six different configurations.

Most motorcycle riders pick Nolan helmets when it comes to modular ones because of the large field of view that is implemented in their helmets. The Nolan N44 is no different, with its visor providing unprecedented vision with fewer blind spots. That translates in safer rides for sure! Also, the helmet features six different configurations, which we will detail in the following paragraphs, along with the visor components!

Chin Guard

The chin guard of the Nolan N44 helmet.

First of all, we have the chin guard that is removable. To remove the chin guard is quite an easy task. You just press the two tabs that you can find on the top of the guard. That will release the handle that connects the chin guard to the helmet. Now, you can pull the chin guard to the front to remove it.

The chin guard is lightweight, and quite durable, as it is made of GE Lexan material. It also has an EPS liner and you can attach it to the shell of the helmet with the stainless steel latches. These small implementations to the chin guard earn the Nolan N44 the ECE 22.05 rating!

Jet Configuration

By removing the chin guard and putting the visor down, you can use the N44 helmet in the jet configuration. This configuration is the best for urban riding, as you will get nice airflow and visibility. You can also put the chin bar back, with no visor, for yet another open-face configuration; albeit it doesn’t make too much sense from a safety perspective.

Off-Road Configuration

If you want an off-road type helmet configuration, the versatility of the N44 helmet allows you to do so. Remove the visor and put the peak and the chin bar in their place, and there you have it! Sadly, you cannot use the visor and peak at the same time, so the dual-sport helmet configuration is not supported. It is a bit of a shame, as these types of helmets are immensely popular these days.

Full-Face Configuration

Of course, we have the full-face configuration too, with the visor and the chin guard in place. This is probably the most useful configuration of the N44 helmet. The visibility you get in this configuration is out of this world! The full-width visibility will surely give a confidence boost to otherwise unconfident riders!

The Face Shield

The enormous face shield of the Nolan N44 helmet.

The face shield of the N44 helmet is enormous. It covers most of the chin guard (when it is in place, of course).

Let’s go into the specifications of the face shield itself. Of course, it is Pinlock ready, even though it doesn’t come with it right out of the box. Also, it has an anti-fog coating and provides UV400 protection. The shield features a quick-release function too. It is very simple to pop it out of the helmet! You just open it up, slide the tab in front of the pivot, and you pop out the shield!

Internal Sun Visor

The internal sun visor of the Nolan N44 helmet.

In the N44 helmet, you can also find the internal sun visor! You can lower it down with the press of the slider on the bottom-left part of the helmet. As it is spring-loaded, you can lower it down and vice versa, which is a nice touch! This visor is scratch and fog resistant.

Well, it is certainly a great addition to the overall package, even though we have one nitpick. The internal sun visor seems to not drop down far enough for some riders. Nevertheless, it is a small nitpick, as this internal visor will enhance your vision for sure!

Comfort & Fit

From a different range of users, the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet has the best fit for people with round head shapes. If you have a round-shaped head, you will also feel some space on the top and forehead parts. Bottom line is that the Nolan N44 is a great fit for narrow heads.

We just want to say a bit more about how the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet fits on the rider’s heads. Some riders report that it is quite a tight fit on their heads. That comes in the picture especially when you want to put it on with a chin guard in place. To remedy that, you can just remove the chin bar before inserting the helmet and then put it back. This is a kinda tedious process, compared to some other modular helmets.

Comfort Liner

Nolan N44 Motorcycle Helmet Comfort Liner

Now, let’s check out the interior of the helmet. First, the comfort liner. It is fully removable and washable, so don’t worry about the sweaty smell! Nolan uses Clima-Comfort fabric in the comfort liner of the N44 helmet. Some of the benefits of this fabric are that it is resistant to bacteria, fungus, and is moisture-wicking.

The fabric does a great job of making the N44 helmet extremely comfortable, that’s for sure. It has that certain smoothy edge that you can feel on your skin while on the ride.

For additional noise protection, there is a dual collar attached to the comfort liner. You can remove it at any time, which you will probably want during the hotter days. To further regulate the noise levels going in the helmet, there is padded material on the helmet underside.

One nitpick with this comfort liner design is that it covers the ear pockets, which means that it will be harder to hear the sounds from your Bluetooth sound system or headphones. Because of this, for some users, the sides of the helmet can press against their faces. Nothing too detracting though.

Chin Strap

The Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet features a chin strap system labeled as Microlock2. It has nice padding, and you can strap it pretty tight, quick and easy. It does come with some problems, though.

Some users report that the chin strap is quite uncomfortable, as it pulls a bit too much just above Adam’s apple. Of course, this can also be a good thing, as tightening down the chin strap will greatly reduce the risk of the helmet falling off your head and causing a potential fatality. But, if you have a large Adam’s apple, the chin strap may be a bit problematic. The best remedy for that is to put a fleece fabric over the chin strap and make it more comfortable.

Safety Ratings

Like all the other P/J dual motorcycle helmets, the N44 features DOT and ECE 22.05 safety ratings. These ratings make it appropriate for sale on the global market. Also, these two safety certificates guarantee at least the minimum level of protection.

Of course, the Nolan N44 helmet features a removable chin guard that is tested for impact. That classifies it is as a dual homologated helmet. So, you can wear this helmet both in the open face and full-face configurations, and be reasonably safe during a crash.

For a more in-depth look on how safe this helmet is for you, just check out this creative and informative video:

Ventilation & Airflow

As it is essentially an upgrade over the Nolan N43, it is reasonable that Nolan has improved the ventilation with the N44 helmet. We can see this in the amazing top venting system.

So, let’s start at the top. We have the central slider and two side sliders. The central one controls the frontal air intake, while the side ones control the air extraction at the side of your crown. This panel is called Airbooster by Nolan. Well, this is a decent ventilation solution. Mainly because you can control how much air will flow through the top. Also, this system cools your head efficiently during the hotter days, so that is a godsend for sure! During the colder rides, you can just close the vents to retain the warmth.

Notice the Nolan N44 vents on the top and at the chin part.

So, how does the Airflow system exactly work? First of all, the side vents are in charge of directing the airflow through the channels that are forged into the EPS liner. Also, there are air holes that direct the airflow to the head of the rider and back through the exhaust vents. To improve the overall airflow, there is a mesh liner positioned between the EPS liner and the channels. It creates additional space, resulting in better airflow. Keep in mind that the exhaust vent is always open, as it is integrated into the shell of the N44 helmet.

While the Airbooster system certainly isn’t the best on the market, it is better than your average ventilation system! The airflow is a bit limited due to the smaller size of the top vent covers. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that light rain won’t enter through the vents if they are closed, but it can enter during heavy rain conditions.

Let’s move on to the bottom of the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet now. A new addition, compared to the Nolan N43 helmet is the chin vent. It is integrated into the face shield as a large switch. This is a good solution for additional airflow to the back of the face shield. Probably the biggest benefit that you can get from the chin vent is the defog of the face shield. Also, the completely removable chin bar has two small side vents. They are practically useless if you have the face shield on, as it covers them. That’s why many riders just remove the face shield if they need to vent up their head during the hot rides.

Nolan N44 helmet certainly offers superb ventilation in full-face mode, and is better than your average full-face helmet on this front!

Noise Level

The noise level of Nolan N44 helmet is quite reasonable.

Most of the time, modular helmets have difficulties keeping the noise levels at reasonable levels. Well, one awesome thing is that Nolan actually paid more attention to this aspect of the N44 motorcycle helmet! Keep in mind that this aspect is totally subjective to each individual rider!

In the case of the N44 helmet, Nolan has built two neck roll sealers and large spoilers in the chin bar sides. This helps to regulate the noise getting inside the helmet.

Basically, when you close the vents, and in the full-face configuration; this helmet has much less noise than your regular modular helmet, which is awesome. When you ride this helmet in the open face mode, then it will be quite noisy, which is reasonable.

Nevertheless, the helmet will never be too noisy in a way that you won’t be able to listen to music or proceed calls to someone. So, we would say that Nolan did quite well when it comes to noise management!

Intercom Device Installation

Nolan has kept this feature in mind when constructing the N44 helmet. The Nolan N44 is mainly designed to support N-Com Bluetooth kits. Regardless of that, you can install your third-party intercom with no hassle.

You can find the comm device port at the rear of the internal sun visor slider. There is a small space there, but it is more than enough for most comm devices. Also, you need to take into consideration that this is the space between the shell and padding. Nevertheless, it is very easy to access.

Size & Weight

You can find the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet in a wide range of sizes, even today. This range starts at 2XS and goes to 3XL. Keep in mind that the shell of this helmet comes in just two sizes. The first shell type covers sizes from 2XS to L, while the second one covers sizes from XL to 3XL.

Sadly, there is no official sizing chart from Nolan, so you will need to measure your head before getting this helmet correctly. Also, make sure to get the right shell size for you, because this helmet can look very big on a small head!

Here is a useful image that can help you with finding the right size for the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet!

Slikovni rezultat za motorcycle helmet sizing chart

The weight of the Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet is 1687 grams, which is quite reasonable when you consider all the extra components you get with the helmet. That applies to the XL size variant of the helmet.

Pricing

The various variants of the N44 helmet.

All things considered, what is the price of the Nolan N44 helmet? Well, don’t worry, as the pricing is quite reasonable considering all the benefits you get from wearing this helmet. Keep in mind that you will get a five-year warranty for each N44 helmet! Well, let’s go through all the options!

First of all, you can choose from six different color schemes of the Nolan N44 helmet: Black, Matte Black, Metallic White, Platinum Silver, Black Graphite, Wine Cherry.

The other option that we are going to specify here is the Revzilla store. One benefit of buying the N44 helmet from this store is that they offer free shipping for the US market.

Probably the cheapest option to buy the Nolan N44 helmet is the Chromeburner Motorgear shop.

Closing Words

Nolan N44 motorcycle helmet sure was ahead of its time during its 2013 release, and we can see why! It is still one of the best modular helmets that your money can buy these days.

Generally, the N44 helmet feels stable in all of its configurations, even though you may not need to use all of the six configurations. Still, it is great to have a wide range of choices!

The visibility that this helmet offers you, especially in the full-face configuration, is one of the best in the dual homologated motorcycle helmet market. From this perspective, it feels like you are actually wearing an open-face helmet, which is a huge benefit.

When it comes to ventilation, a huge amount of air can flow through the N44, thanks to the vent sliders. Although it kinda feels noisy at times, it is still not such a huge factor to detract you from trying out this amazing motorcycle helmet!

Reasonably priced, versatile, and with one of the best visibility around, Nolan N44 is the modular motorcycle helmet that feels high-quality and performs extremely well. We highly recommend this helmet if you are an urban rider, no matter if your journeys are short or long. You won’t be disappointed, that’s for sure!

Ruroc Atlas 2.0 Motorcycle Helmet Review – A Worthwhile Improvement Over the Original!

Ruroc has shaken the motorcycle helmet market with its debut motorcycle helmet – the Atlas. It was a wildly hyped helmet, with lots of expectations behind it. When it was released, it was met with a healthy amount of criticism. Things like airflow and comfort were criticized most often – and Ruroc listened to all of the criticism. Now, they have released the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet – which should be a redemption over the original Atlas helmet.

So, did Ruroc improve the Atlas helmet, or is it just another marketing ploy? Read our Ruroc Atlas 2.0 review to find out! There are plenty of surprises here!

Ruroc Atlas 2.0 Motorcycle Helmet Review – Features

Ruroc 1.0 2.0 ronin gold motorcycle helmet

So, our goal here is to give you an objective, non-biased outlook on this motorcycle helmet. After all, the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet is a direct answer to the complaints of the original one. So, it is expected that most of the caveats of the first one would be fixed in this iteration.

Here are the main features of the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet:

  • Full-face helmet
  • Carbon fiber shell
  • Weighs 3,2 lbs (1,45 kg)
  • Pinlock-ready clear and tinted face shields included
  • Polystyrene foam comfort liner
  • Emergency pull tabs
  • Fidlock chin strap
  • Six air intakes and six exhausts
  • Ready for Shockwave Bluetooth system installation
  • ECE, DOT and VESC-8 safety certifications

Without further ado, let’s dive in and break down all the important features of the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet!

Construction & Design

Ruroc-2.0-Mercury-silver-motorbike-helmet

The Atlas 2.0 features no changes to the overall construction of the helmet shell. So, this is still a full-face helmet with a shell made of carbon fiber. This material makes the Atlas 2.0 helmet extremely durable, yet light to wear. Actually, the weight of the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 is only 1,450g!

When it comes to the actual design and aesthetics of the Atlas 2.0 helmet, Ruroc really is blowing other manufacturers out of the water! The graphics on the different variants of the helmet are absolutely beautiful, and further increase the value of the helmet itself.

One thing to note is that your fingerprints will stick if you opt for a matte-black variant of the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet.

For all the moto vloggers out there, it will be important to know if the shape of the helmet is actually friendly for a GoPro or a similar action camera installation. Well, we have mixed feelings about this. The shape of the helmet is concave, so it will be difficult to put on an action camera in a classic manner.

But, there is a workaround to this, with a little sacrifice, if you are ready for it. You can use a moldable glue, like Sugru, to attach the action camera on the chin vent. Now, if you do that, you will be able to take amazing videos from this perspective but block the chin vent.

Vision

Ruroc atlas platinum ronin review 2.0

First of all, Ruroc has listened to the complaints on the visor of the original Atlas helmet. To replace the original visor, you had to use a special tool to unscrew it, which was an unnecessary complication. With Atlas 2.0, Ruroc has introduced twist knobs that are comfortable to take off with your fingers, so you won’t need the special tool to unscrew the visor.

Also, Ruroc has improved the fit of the visor itself. So, Atlas 1.0 had a problem with the top part of the visor sealing. It actually wasn’t sealed, so there was a small gap there before. This was a problem because the wind could have gotten inside easily, as well as water. Because of that, the visor fogged up quite a bit.

With the Atlas 2.0, the visor sealing is as it should be – actually sealed. That will cause less fogging and less airflow.

When it comes to the visibility that the helmet offers for an individual rider, we are really pleasantly surprised! The face shields are massive and you will get very nice peripheral vision with the Atlas 2.0 helmet, which is a great benefit. Just make sure to utilize the pin lock mechanisms on the face shields for them not to fog up! Now, let’s talk about the visor shields!

The Visor Shields

With the visor itself, you will get two visor shields with this helmet: the clear shield and the tinted shield, which are both Pinlock manufactured. Both shields are anti-fog and have double pane windows, something Pinlock visor shields are famous for. Also, both shields are anti-scratch too, so their durability is on reasonable levels. Even though the visor shields are certified with Anti-Fog label, they will fog up if you don’t utilize the pin lock mechanism.

We also want to mention one caveat with the face shields. So, the locking mechanism between the visor and the point of contact with the visor is not metal. The visor itself has plastic frames that are connected with the metal surface, but this isn’t an ideal solution, as it can cause breakages and cracks in the long term.

Well, kudos to Ruroc for including two shields in one package! Not a lot of motorcycle helmet manufacturers do this for their customers after all!

Comfort

ruroc atlas platinum ronin 2.0 1.0

One of the main things about motorcycle helmets is how comfortable they are. After all, you are buying a certain motorcycle helmet to wear for a longer period of time. So, how does Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet hold up on the comfort front?

Let’s talk about the fit of the helmet for the beginning. While similar in size and construction to the Atlas 1.0, we can confidently say that the 2.0 helmet is much more comfortable to wear during the longer time periods. Not to mention how easy it is to put it on!

One of the complaints on the comfort section of the Atlas 1.0 helmet was the nose section. Users reported that this section was too close to the face, which turned into two things:

  1. During an eventual crash, it could seriously damage your nose.
  2. It made the helmet harder to put on and off your head.

Ruroc has addressed this issue, so now the helmet is a perfect fit for more head shapes. Now, let’s look in the inside of the helmet to see how comfortable it actually is!

The Comfort Liner

When it comes to the quality of the material of the comfort liner, we have mixed feelings here. That’s because the comfort liner is covered with polystyrene foam, which is a kind of regular, cheap material. Well, if you have lots of hair, this material won’t cause you too many problems. If you are a bald motorcycle rider, you will feel all the gaps with no padding, which might be irritating after some time. So, we think that Ruroc should do something with the comfort liner to make it suitable for all types of riders. After all, this is not an entry-level helmet!

The Pull Tabs

One extra thing that Ruroc added to the Atlas 2.0 helmet are the emergency pull tabs, which is a nice touch. The pull tabs are envisioned for the situations when the emergency personnel have to take off the helmet from your face as soon as possible. That will mostly occur during a crash. Also, because of the pull tabs, the helmet is generally easier to take on and off.

One downside to the pull tabs is the fact that they are very wide. That opens up the opportunity for them to stick out even with the minor disturbance, which can be a distraction during the ride. If that happens, you will need to feed them back into the helmet yourself, and that is difficult during the actual ride.

The mentioned downside can be especially frustrating if you want to moto vlog and put the microphone through the pull tabs. So, this is not a huge problem, and we believe that Ruroc will fix this soon by just tightening up the pull tabs a bit.

Fidlock Chin Strap

Ruroc has left the buckling system untouched from the Atlas 1.0, which is a smart decision. The Fidlock chin strap uses magnetic technology to improve the process of tightening the buckle up your neck. Also, thanks to the red actionable button, it won’t come loose so easily. You need to pull the red button to loosen the buckle. So, don’t worry about the wind breaking the strap from your chin! Also, that means that this mechanism is friendly to take on and off with gloves on your hands, which is awesome!

Airflow

ruroc 2.0 beast motorcyle helmet for motorbike review

One of the most frequent complaints of the original Atlas helmet was how noisy it was during windy conditions. Ruroc actually made a few tweaks to address this issue. For starters, they added a wind stop to the padding located at the main opening of the helmet. They also closed the vents that are close to the ear section. Also, they improved the rubber seal around the visor, which was a big problem with the first variation.

Now, to some specifics when it comes to the ventilation system. It has 6 air intakes and 6 exhausts. That’s quite a lot, isn’t it? Also, you can control how much air comes into the helmet via the chin vent that you can open and close at any time. So, Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet provides a lot of airflow, that’s for sure. Does this benefit everyone, though?

Well, it is a good thing for some riders, but bad for other riders. For example, for someone living in Australia, where it can get quite hot, lots of airflow is perfect to keep your head cool during these harsh conditions. But, if you are living in Minnesota for example, where it can get quite cold, this helmet will cool your head a bit too much.

So, this helmet is best for the summer, when it can provide the perfect amount of airflow to keep you focused on the road. For winter, it may get too chilly inside this helmet. But, if you don’t want to buy a separate helmet for winter, you can always wear a ski mask to heat you up.

Regardless of all the mentioned things, we appreciate that Ruroc has listened to user complaints and addressed the noise issues. The ventilation is very similar to the Atlas 1.0 solutions though.

Bluetooth Support

If you are a solo rider, you will gladly appreciate this feature! The Bluetooth system in question is called Shockwave and is a dedicated buy that costs 150$ (136€/117£). Like the helmet itself, you can buy it in three monthly installments!

You can install this piece of hardware on the bottom part of the helmet. Ruroc also includes a small screwdriver for an easier installation of the system.

So, what benefits does the Shockwave system bring to the table? Is it worth the hefty price tag? After all, for this price, you can buy a brand-new, entry-level helmet! First of all, the Shockwave has 40mm audio drivers, that produce amazing bass, so if you are mainly interested in listening to music, this Bluetooth system has got you covered!

Of course, you can answer all incoming calls with the touch of the button on the Shockwave hardware, conveniently placed so that you can just click it on the bottom part of your helmet. Not to mention the powerful built-in microphone that is placed discreetly.

You can also charge the Shockwave system on the go if you have an external battery pack at hand.

Considering all the benefits that Shockwave brings to the table, we would recommend you to get this if you are really a type of rider that will listen to music on the road, talk to your friends or family, and has an extra amount of cash on hand. There are much cheaper Bluetooth headphones that have powerful audio drivers and offer the same sound quality as the Shockwave.

Safety Ratings

ruroc atlas 2.0 shuriken review helmet

So, what safety rating does the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 have?

Let’s start with the safety rating it has for the visor shield. So, the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 is a motorcycle helmet that features the VESC-8 (Vehicle Equipment Safety Commission Standard 8) safety rating. That means that Ruroc Atlas 2.0 has passed a test that involves optical tests and a 1.56-ounce steel projectile with a conical point striking the shield at 20mph, which mustn’t penetrate. Cracking or piercing is allowed, as long as the projectile doesn’t actually pass through or remain lodged. The impact cannot knock small bits of the shield into the helmet either.

The other safety ratings that the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 motorcycle helmet has are ECE 22.05 and DOT certifications. DOT is the safety standard for the USA, and the ECE is the standard for Europe. That means that this motorcycle helmet is a great fit for the global market.

Some people have stated their concern for the lack of the Snell safety rating for the Atlas 2.0 helmet. Well, there is not that much of a difference when it comes to ECE 22.05 and Snell ratings. They have a few different parameters, but nothing groundbreaking.

It is great that the Atlas 2.0 helmet has an ECE 22.05 rating as it is a full-face helmet. The chin guard is what makes this helmet pass this certification, as it is essential in protecting your face.

Anyway, the Atlas 2.0 helmet passed just the bare minimum safety tests that it has to for the global market production.

Available Models

ruroc atlas el diablo 2.0 helmet review honest

There are numerous different variants of the Atlas 2.0 helmet. Albeit they feature the same construction, what is different is the design patters of each individual model. When you consider that one of the main selling factors (for better or worse) is the graphic design, Ruroc has plenty of different artworks to satiate your hunger.

You can choose from 15 different Ruroc Atlas 2.0 models: Toxin, Beast, El Diablo, Raw Carbon, Core, Platinum Ronin, Shuriken, Mercury, Velos, Camo, Crimson, Ghost, Ranger, Hellfire, and Nerve Decay.

Atlas 2.0 helmets come in following sizes:

  • XS (53 – 54 cm)
  • S (55 – 56 cm)
  • M (57 – 58 cm)
  • L (59 – 60 cm)
  • XL (61 – 62 cm)
  • XXL (63 – 64 cm)

Price

For now, the price of the Ruroc Atlas 2.0 helmet starts from 420$ to 575$ (380€/328£ to 521€/448£). The price will depend on the individual model you choose though. Ruroc gives you the opportunity to pay for the helmet in three monthly installments, which is a nice touch!

Also, one great thing that Ruroc actually did with the Atlas 2.0 helmet is the discount they offer for the Atlas 1.0 users. There were a lot of complaints on the first variant of the helmet that Ruroc addressed with the 2.0 helmet.

Actually, they offer the 10-35% discount codes for all the people that purchased the original Atlas 1.0 helmet. So, the folks who get a 10% discount are those who purchased the Atlas 1.0 at a discount of 20-35% (that was during Black Friday and Boxing Day sales). People who bought the Atlas 1.0 helmet at full price will get a similar discount code to the discount of the Black Friday and Boxing Day sales (that is a 20-35% discount!).

It is really nice to see that Ruroc is listening to its fanbase and that they are actually offering solid discounts for all the users who want to upgrade if they were in any way unsatisfied.

Closing Words

Ruroc Atlas 2.0 Helmet

So, did Ruroc actually succeed in fixing the problems of the Atlas 1.0 helmet? Actually, they did quite a good job with this revision, albeit it still has some problems that can be fixed in future iterations.

Ruroc will need to decide if this is an all-rounded helmet when it comes to weather seasons. Right now, it still produces a lot of airflow, which is awesome for the summer season, but not really the same during the winter. We hope Ruroc addresses this issue.

Nevertheless, we really love what Ruroc has done with the Atlas 2.0 helmet. It retains the badass design that was the trademark of the original variant, has better visibility than the original one, and is much more comfortable than the first one! Not to mention that it is also safe enough even during the crash.

So, if you would ask us should you buy this helmet, we would say – go for it! The improvements over the original one are visible, and while the Atlas 2.0 helmet is not perfect by any means, it sure is worth your money!

AGV Pista GP RR: Performance Carbon Helmet Review

So here we are with the review of the AGV Pista GP RR, a performance carbon helmet that belongs to the expensive tiers.

It is the new version of its predecessor, the AGB Pista GP R. It comes with some key changes, that might make this carbon helmet the perfect fit for you.

Are you ready to discover why this is a performance masterpiece? Let’s get to it!

AGV Pista GP RR review: expensive, but well worth it

AGV-PISTA-GP-RR side use

Coming in at a price of 1.400$, 1.299€ or 1.089 pounds, this is definitely a pricy carbon helmet. You must take into account that this is the flagship model from AGV, so it really doesn’t get any better that the current design.

If you are looking for the things that haven’t changed, know that:

  • It is still a 3k carbon helmet.
  • Still has a four shell options with different sizes.
  • The weight remains the same, at 1,6 kg.
  • Still DOT, ECE and FIM rated.

From a fit standpoint, the AGV Pista GP RR has an intermediate oval to long oval design. This, it is longer front to back, but narrower on the sides.

Consider that it allows you to change the internals a little bit, so you can find what is the perfect fit for your head. Quite convenient.

AGV-PISTA-GP-RR front

This carbon helmet is all about certifications

If you are looking for a high-end performance and certified carbon helmet, look no more.

From a rating and testing standpoint, this truly is a flagship product. It comes with plenty of certifications and security features that will make this a round product.

FIM, a world class certification

FIM is the governing certification from an international perspective. It does meet the requirements of Moto GP, World Superbike Road Racing, etc.

If you want to compete in those, the AGV Pista GP RR will be a terrific choice. If you happen to be a regular rider, rest assured that this carbon helmet meets such incredible standards of safety.

AGV has really put some effort in obtaining those certifications. As it is true that most riders do not need those features, they are the icing on the cake. Consider that, in case of an accident, as far as protection is concerned it doesn’t really get any better than this.

There is no other FIM available carbon helmet available for purchase for the regular rider. So, if you want to feel like a champion, keep that in mind!

AGV-PISTA-GP-RR back

The brilliant design of the AGV Pista GP RR

We want to highlight in our AGV Pista GP RR review the amazing work of the company. This carbon helmet revisits the previous version, and delivers a much better design than its predecessor.

As soon as you get some speed, you will notice how balanced and even this helmet is. The spoiler on the back helps by deflecting the airflow, so you feel as if you were wearing nothing at all. Absolutely great on street riding.

If you are used to a helmet that feels like pulling back on you as soon as you increase the speed, forget about that with this one. Simply fly on the road, and enjoy the feeling of freedom that it provides.

Smart pinlock ready facial

As far as the front, it features the same pinlock ready system than the previous version of the helmet. One of the perks of this one is the fact that they have improved the mechanism, so it is one of the smallest in the motorcycling market.

From a face shield mounting standpoint, the level of security and simplicity is unbelievable. Pull it out and the visor pops off, line it back up and enjoy the ride. Really easy to use.

Mind you that there is no middle position for the visor. Take into account that this is a racing carbon helmet, so it is not supposed to feature that.

In line with that, there are plenty of vents on top, but there is no way to interact with those.

They have a rubber cover, so you may choose whether you’d like to use them or not. There is also a chin vent that can be actuated from the inside of the helmet, and two more passive vents on the back.

All things considered, it is a very nice design. However, keep in mind that this is a racing helmet; you may use it for street riding, but it will not shine as much on the daily use.

On the inside of the AGV Pista GP RR

One of the main advantages of the AGV Pista GP RR is that you may use a hydration pack while riding. Yet again, a very simple system that you’ll certainly enjoy.

Pull off the chin curtain and you’ll find the cheek pads. Those are incorporated into the neck roll, so it all comes out together. One piece for the whole assembly, so it is fairly useful when it comes to maintenance.

It features quick release emergency cheek pads… but no pockets for speaker cutouts. This could be a deal-breaker for some of you out there, as it will be virtually impossible to use a communication system on this one.

The result of the inside being put together in once piece is a very aggressive and tight fit. This is very welcome if you are planning on using the carbon helmet for a short period of time. However, it is not the best if you are going to use it to cover long distances.

Enjoy the adaptive fit system from AGV

On the inside of the helmet you will find three measurements that will be easily adjusted. By doing so, you may pull the helmet quickly and feel it really close to your head.

This is a very nice feature when it comes to security, as it provides a comfortable but firm grip to your head.

In addition to that, you may add extra millimeter pads, that will make the fit just perfect for you. The result is a racing helmet that feels awesome when riding.

Who is the AGV Pista GP RR for?

As far as security, comfort and design, it really does not get better than this AGV Pista GP RR. The new model of this 3k carbon helmet is just outstanding. It really does not get much better than this.

Therefore, is you are going for a quick ride or you want to feel like a pro, this is the best option available. Period.

However, some riders out there will definitely miss the speaker pocket, as you won’t be able to communicate while using this helmet. Feel like going to a long ride? After a few hours, this helmet might be not the best. It might be just too tight for too long.

All things consider, the AGV Pista GP RR is definitely a racing champion. It feels good because it is a really smart, safe and professional design. Maybe not ideal for every rider, but certainly amazing as a carbon helmet. A great job from AGV, that is definitely worth the price!

HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon – A true budget champion

The HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon Helmet has been waiting for our review for a while.

It is indeed an incredible racing Carbon helmet for the price. Although it was released back in 2016, it is still alive and well. We would like to dig deeper in this wonderful option.

Are you on a budget? If that’s the case, we are certain you will fall in love with this one. Let’s get into it!

HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon review: an amazing budget helmet

HJC RPHA 11 Pro

Back in 2016 we could already tell that this racing helmet was deserving of our praises. HJC has done wonderful work with this one, which has a nice Italian inspiration when it comes to design.

With our review of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro we would really like to get into the details. We are going to discuss its technicalities and innovations, so you can decide for yourself if this is the helmet that you have been looking for.

The Pro version comes in with a weight of 1,4 kilograms. This is a balanced helmet out of the box. Certainly quite an improvement from the regular version of the product.

In order to achieve this final result, HJC has used new materials, such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, organic resins and aramid. A clever decision that results in a light helmet which is also stronger than its predecessor.

Here are a few more features of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro to consider:

  • Six front vents and four back vents
  • Aerodynamic profile
  • Clear shield with increased visibility
  • Pinlock-ready dark shield
  • Intermediate oval shape
  • Emergency pull tabs
  • Removable inner liner with antibacterial qualities
  • Speaker pocket

Without further ado, let’s begin with the ventilation system of this amazing helmet!

A beautiful design with plenty of vents

Just by looking at the helmet, you might deduce that there are quite a few vents on this one. It has six on the front and four on the back, with a total of ten vents.

If you think about this helmet from a full-face standpoint, our experience is that it vents better than any other helmet we’ve tried on any price range. Ever.

The air will flow from the front to the back, but also through the chin. There is a switch that will allow you to open and close those last ones.

So if you struggle with the ventilation system of your current helmet, this might be a great option. It is really amazing on that, and definitely a step forward from the previous version.

A really good aerodynamic profile

Another relevant feature of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon is its aerodynamic profile. As the design is a bit more compact, we feel that this one performs better on that area.

The HJC team has overhauled the shield and its mechanism. Now you get a dark shield with race tearoffs as well as pin lock ready.

You don’t like that? No worries! They have you covered with an additional clear shield. Both are heavy-duty with optically correct polycarbonate.

In addition to that, the shield mechanism is efficient as expected from HJC. The overall look of the helmet is nice and kind of aggressive, especially when using the dark shield.

HJC RPHA 11 Pro

The HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon has a bit of a sizing issue

If we were to highlight something negative about the HJC RPHA 11 Pro is the fact that the sizing system is not the best.

It has an intermediate oval design which makes it race fit, and that is certainly great. However, if you wore a medium size in previous HJC helmets, you will need a large one on the Pro version.

This is a bit frustrating if you have been using their helmets for a while, as the sizing becomes an issue and you may find that the fit is not just perfect.

If you want to make a safe purchase, just buy one size up and we believe you will be fine.

A strong competitor on the £350 price tag

When you look at the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon, you must consider that you are getting a premium feature set on a budget. Other helmets that have similar capabilities could cost you up to 650 pounds. There is quite a difference!

So… where is the catch? The definitely cut some corners on a few details. One of them is the sizing, and other is the shield mechanism. It really lacks the the performance that we would expect from HJC, as it comes down way too easily.

That would be the only feature that we really don’t like about this helmet. If you are planning on changing the dark and clear shield quite often, this might come in handy. Other than that, the shield system might be a deal breaker for some.

Mind you, if you consider the £350 price tag, it doesn’t really get better than this one. Those issues become a minor thing is you take into account all the amazing features from this racing helmet. It is just a killer job from HJC!

HJC RPHA 11 Pro

The Pro says it all

Some of the advantages of the clever design of this helmet is the fact that it is quite a leap from its predecessor.

HJC is really in for improvements, and they have delivered what was required to make a Pro version. Therefore, the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon includes:

  • Better resistance to noise, wind and overall weather.
  • Extra visibility by adding some millimeters to the shield’s length top to bottom.
  • They changed the location of the vents, improving the aerodynamic profile.

Now let’s look at the inside of the helmet. There, you will find that it has a better cut out on the side, so it includes an emergency cheek pad removal system, among other great features.

Inside the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon

As commented before, on the inside the first thing that will get your attention is the emergency cheek pad removal system. This is a key security feature, that will certainly be valued by any rider.

HJC has chosen Polly Jean as their new material for the inside. It not only looks better, it also feels way nicer. It is certainly a premium quality material that represents an upgrade from its predecessor.

Another advantage is that it results in an antimicrobial interior, which also is really good against sweat. In addition to that, there is plenty of room for glasses and sunglasses. So that is something you might want to consider!

The shell has a cover of material which you may remove. By doing so, it is possible to wash the entire inside of the HJC RPHA 11 Pro Carbon. If you are one of those riders who lives in a hot area, this is certainly a plus.

Finally, the helmet includes a nice speaker pocket, which is also removable. If you are not planning on using that, they’ve got you covered, as they included two pieces with dense material to cover the gap. By using it, you will reduce the wind noise quite substantially.

HJC RPHA 11 Pro’s review takeaway

If you are looking for a Race Lightweight Carbon helmet that is affordable, this product from HJC might be exactly what you have been looking for.

Although it has some minor issues as far as the design is concerned, the helmet really stands out of its competitors on this price range. We have yet to see such a good value for the price you are paying.

Light, comfortable, safe and solid, this is a great helmet for the price. It has a brilliant vent system design, and is definitely an improvement over its previous version.

All things consider, just remember to size up your HJC RPHA 11 Pro. Besides that tip, we can’t help but recommend this amazing racing helmet.

Hero MotoCorp Unveils Its First-Ever Electric Motorcycle!

0

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle! It is called AE-47, and it looks really nice. We won’t probably see this motorcycle on the North American market due to its specifications. Anyway, the AE-47 utilizes a hub-mounted motor, with a decent range.

According to some sources, this electric motorcycle has a 4kW motor and a 3.5kWh Li-ion battery. Based on these facts, don’t expect to travel large distances or ride fast with this electric motorcycle. What we know is that this bike has 74.5 miles range in eco mode, and 53 miles range in power mode. Its top speed is 52 mph, albeit it will take you a bit longer to actually come to this number. This bike gets from 0 to 37 mph in 9 seconds!

What are some of the other features of this electric motorcycle? Some of them are:

  • Keyless access
  • Mobile charger
  • Walk assistance
  • Dedicated application for the bike
  • Digital instrument cluster

While this motorcycle might just be fit for the city rides, it is questionable if it will become a hit. Well, maybe it will be an alternative to the numerous electric scooters that are so crowded in this market. Time will tell, that’s for sure.

Bell Broozer Motorcycle Helmet – A Versatile Dual-Homologated Helmet!

Each year Bell loves to add one new helmet to their lineup. Bell is a highly versatile brand, covering everything from street to race to motocross helmets. Sometimes, it may take a while to see something brand new from them. Well, Bell has finally launched a new helmet – the Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet!

This helmet got its release in January 2020, and this is a very exciting helmet, to say at least! We can see that its name and styling target the street biker segment of the market. Looking at the particular design choices of the helmet, there is outstanding versatility for every urban rider. This helmet has huge potential to become more popular and widespread in the motorcycle market. Probably Bell didn’t intend this, but this is a good thing!

Keep on reading to find out more about the amazing and versatile Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet!

Bell Broozer Motorcycle Helmet – Overview

First of all, you can find the Bell Broozer helmet on sale for a price of just £199,99 (€238 or $260). This is not such a bummer of a price considering that this helmet is actually a dual-homologated helmet! That means that it is DOT and ECE 22.05 certified both as a full-face helmet and an open-face helmet.

You can learn more about dual-homologated motorcycle helmets here!

You can find the Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet in five color schemes. The main thematic of the color palette is black. The available color schemes for the helmet are:

  • Arc Matte Black-Gray
  • Cranium Matte Black-White
  • Free Ride Matte Gray-Black
  • Gloss Black
  • Matte Black

Bell makes sure that the Broozer helmet is fit for riders of all head shapes. There are three shell sizes available, starting from XS and S, to M and L, and ending with XL and XXL. It is nice to see this versatility on the size front. You can be sure that you won’t have any problems when you order this helmet online, as it features a classic and universal intermediate oval shape. Bell is a quite reputable company, so that gives them some extra points!

Also, the shell of the helmet is quite durable. It is made of PC/ABS material, which makes it very light when you put it on your head.

Bell Broozer Helmet For Sale

The weight of the Bell Broozer helmet is just 1350 grams, which is pretty lightweight for a full-face configured helmet. When you remove the jaw guard, you save a couple of hundred grams more in weight. It is certainly a low profile helmet, but not the thinnest one on the market. Still, extra points to Bell for making a modular helmet that is so lightweight and comfortable to have on your head.

As a cherry on top of the package, Bell offers a 5-year guarantee for this helmet (as with all their other helmets). This is just a testament to the quality that this company offers!

In the next sections, we are going to break down the main features of the Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet!

The Configuration

As we already specified, this motorcycle helmet is dual-homologated. That means that it features two configurations; the helmet is both full-face and open-face.

So, how to switch between these two configurations? Well, there is a removable chin bar that features some clever design. On the underside of the helmet, you can see two gray hooks. You can simply pull off the chin bar from these gray hooks. Of course, we don’t recommend doing that while on the go!

Nevertheless, the removable chin bar turns a helmet that looks a bit limited on the first sight into something that is very versatile. For example, during a very hot day, you can make this helmet open-face. Should it start to rain, you can easily convert it back to the full-face configuration. As the chin guard is very light, you can carry it in your bag or luggage department.

Basically, with this helmet, you get two helmets! Changing between the two configurations is effortless and well-executed. Of course, this isn’t the first helmet to do this but is one of the rare ones that make the process much easier for the rider.

The Visor

bell-broozer-visor

You can easily drop down the visor which is built into the helmet itself. The main benefit of this built-in design is that the helmet doesn’t lift up that much like the standard full-face helmet, as there are no small spots that catch air.

Also, there are small tabs on each side of the brow that slide down the visor. We have to mention that the visor of the Bell Broozer helmet features anti-fog coating and is anti-scratch too!

An important thing to mention is that the Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet is eyewear compatible! As the visor is internally retractable, there is some space above the cheek pads that allow you to wear glasses underneath the visor. Of course, it is more likely that you will wear eyewear with the open-face configuration. Still, it is good to know that Bell has this smart implementation!

Anyway, the visor adds up to the overall aesthetics of the Broozer helmet, giving a nice, edgy look to the shell.

The Interior

Inside the helmet, you can find earpads fixed to the helmet thanks to the Velcro snaps and strips. Sadly, there are no cut-outs for speakers, if you perhaps want to use some kind of helmet communication system. The removable EPS liner and the ear pads are padded lightly and will pop out of the helmet with much ease.

Also, the Bell Broozer helmet features the signature ratchet-style chin strap that is highly adjustable. The system is very simple and offers a quick release of the strap.

The Ventilation

Bell Broozer Helmet

You can find practical and usable vents either at the top of the helmet or on the chin bar. Both of these vents are easily operational, even during the ride; with gloves on as well.

There are no exit vents, but the EPS liner inside the shell is furrowed. This provides additional airflow over the skull of the rider. That is a good compromise on the Bells’ behalf. The EPS liner is removable and washable; and quite comfortable as well. This makes it quite practical for long-term use.

The versatile nature of the Bell Broozer motorcycle helmet should give it much appeal to the riders all over the world. You can go from open-face to the full-face configuration in a single snap. Not to mention its low price tag for what it offers!
