The Honda Hawk is expected to replace the CB1100 in Honda’s lineup.

0

The Japanese motorcycle press has already been on high alert this week. Reports claim that a replacement for the CB1100 will arrive shortly. The motorcycle in query is the much-discussed Hawk idea, a retro-styled café racer powered by an Africa Twin engine.

Moving away from the air-cooled inline four-cylinder architecture of the outgoing CB1100. It is being compelled by ever-stricter pollution rules, making the usage of large-capacity air-cooled engines problematic.

To get around this, Honda might be using its CRF1100L engine. With its clean-running and potent parallel-twin stepping up once more, as it did with the CMX1100 Rebel and NT1100 models.

The company claims to have settled on the name Honda Hawk for this motorcycle, short for Hawk 1100. For starters, it distinguishes the motorcycle from the preceding CB model. While also evoking another motorcycle from Honda’s past.

The CB400T was introduced in 1977 and was also known as the Hawk in some markets. It was also a parallel twin of the CB400, introduced in 1977.

Reveal date of Honda Hawk

It’s unclear when the reimagined Hawk will make its public debut. The Japanese press appears to have a general idea of when it will happen. Two major motorcycle events will be held in Japan this spring.

The Osaka Motorcycle Show at the beginning of March and the Tokyo Motorcycle Show at the end of the month. Many Japanese reports predict that the bike will reveal itself at the Osaka show. Then unveiled in its entirety at the Tokyo event. And it’s possible that the Hawk won’t be the only one to get their moment in the spotlight.

Considering that the Transalp and Hornet are also in development. Honda could have a hectic spring season ahead of them. For more news and updates keep visiting BikersInsider.

GRMoto’s Yellow Arrow Is A Perfect Husqvarna Vitpilen 701

0

Almost every motorcycle manufacturer now has its own take on a middle-weight retro-style bike. In the industry, the phrase “neo-retro” is a common term.

These bikes differ in appearance and are just modern model motorbikes. Thus, neo made to seem vintage. Bikes like the CB650R to vintage-style Triumphs are as performance machines as aesthetic icons.

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701, based on the KTM 690 Duke, is an actual work of neo-retro design. The only traits that hint at its retro-inspired style are the circular headlamp and truncated tail.

Its lithe and athletic features give it a slim appearance, implying a swift and agile machine. It is speedy and elegant. All thanks to its responsive 693cc single-cylinder engine. It is one of the highest-capacity thumpers currently on the market.

Husqvarna-Vitpilan-701-with-a-Rider
Husqvarna Vitpilan 701 Yellow Arrow Customization

Unsurprisingly, the Vitpilen 701 is a popular platform for custom builders to express themselves. The 701’s custom constructions come in various shapes and sizes, some weirder than others.

We like those with the more modest style that detract too much from the bike’s already good-looking factory looks. GRMoto’s Yellow Arrow is an example of such a design.

The Yellow Arrow is, without a doubt, a Vitpilen 701. No matter how you look at it, it’s a Husky Vitpilen 701, but with a few distinct changes that set it apart.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Yellow Arrow
Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Yellow Arrow

The most significant thing is that GRMoto offers the kit seen on this bike as a bolt-on body kit compatible with all Vitpilen 701 model years. The motorbike keeps its circular headlamp upfront, but this time with a bit of cowl that gives it a sporty appearance.

The radiator comes with matching yellow shrouds. A big belly pan covers the bottom of the engine, giving the bike a semi-faired appearance.

Of course, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 is a high-performance machine. GRMoto has upgraded it to get even more out of it. Showa shocks feature in the forks upfront.

The new Brembo M50 brake calipers and a Brembo RCS Cortacorse master cylinder help the bike come to a more abrupt halt. The Bike is finished with a blacked-out factory exhaust system with a CNC end cap and sportbike-s.

Leaked photos of Brabus 1300 R on KTM official website, before launch

0

We discovered leaked photos of what we assumed to be the revived Husqvarna Vitpilen 1301 in January 2022. We thought the KTM 1290 Super Duke-based prototype would fit into Husky’s portfolio.

It is based on its round headlamp and futuristic styling. Yet, we reported that a joint effort between automobile tuning specialists Brabus and KTM will use the Super Duke as a foundation.

After months of public conjecture and testing by the partners, a KTM website leak confirms that the two are identical. With the Brabus 1300 R about to join the market on February 11, 2022, KTM released the model’s dedicated webpage before removing it.

While the homepage is no longer active. A fast search engine inquiry will reveal the model’s gallery photo(s) on the KTM website.

Tagline for Brabus 1300 R

“Heart of a Beast, Soul of a Gentleman”, encapsulates the rebellious attitude. The 1290 Super Duke also alludes to Brabus’ more refined style.

While we’ll have to wait until the 1300 R is introduced to learn the model’s exact features and cost. The photos suggest that Brabus’ first motorcycle will be based on the announced 1290 Super Duke Evo.

KTM Brabus 1300 R 2022 Bodywork

As a result, many expect the Brabus 1300 R to include an electronically-damped WP Apex front end. An electronically-adjustable WP mono-shock and the Super Duke’s 180-horsepower 1,301cc V-twin engine.

While we expect the Brabus to share many characteristics with its KTM sibling. The special-edition model will have two carbon fiber air intakes on both fuel tank sides.

Lightweight build

Carbon fiber is also a significant element in the new design. The light material made headlamp nacelle, brake caliper cooling ducts, tank trim, and tail unit. Premium features like CNC-milled footpegs and adjustable levers round out the new package.

More information about the 1300 R’s specifications will be revealed when released. But, it appears that Brabus is using the released EVO version of the 1290 Super Duke R as its base model.

As a result, expect roughly 180hp held in check by a slew of electrical gadgets. It meant to keep the 1300 R in check on and off the racing track. As well as access to the updated WP APEX suspension set-up with electronic damping.

According to early estimates, 77 Brabus 1300 R units will mark the company’s founding in 1977. The bike will be available in Magma Red or Signature Black liveries colors. The more we will know when the bike will hit the market. For more news and updates on this beauty keep visiting BikersInsider.

The Voge 650 DSX adventure motorbike has been unveiled for the UK.

0

The Voge 650 DSX, like the 500DS we reviewed in the summer of last year, is a middleweight adventure machine. Unlike the 500DS, its objectives are more slanted toward the off-road side of life.

A 652cc, 47bhp single-cylinder engine powers the bike, allowing it to sail in A2-compliant restriction. The switch to a one-pot thumper makes the Voge and out-of-the-box. An interesting proposition in a market flooded with multi-platform parallel twin-cylinder adventure motorcycles.

The Voge 650 DSX sports an adventure-ready 19″ front wheel and a 17″ rear tyre. Both of which are shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally hoops. KYB handles the suspension, which includes USD forks and a rear mono-shock.

There’s no mention of adjustability in the press statement. While considering the bike’s cheap nature and sub-£6.5k price tag, we’d imagine that some mechanical pre-load at the rear would be the limit.

The braking system, like the suspension, is low-cost, though the Nissin callipers used can perform if properly set up. Cornering ABS isn’t mentioned, and at this price point, it shouldn’t be, but Voge does say that the rear ABS is switchable for off-road riding.

The Voge 650 DSX’s meter display has a nice-looking TFT dash. It may appear a little gaudy on certain Chinese-made motorcycles. This is not the case here, as the system appears to be clean, easy to read, and well-organized.

A tyre pressure monitoring system, an adjustable screen, a USB port, sequential LED indicators, off-road pegs (with rubber inserts), and a rear luggage rack are also provided.

For those looking for a more rugged, off-road-ready appearance. The Voge 650 DSX comes with a full luggage option for £899.99.

The bike is available in Black, Red, or Blue and has a starting price of £6,399 or £6,899 for the kitted-out version. The bike is available in the UK from February 9, 2022.

The Color Scheme of the 2022 KTM 890 Duke R Is Inspired by MotoGP.

0

The 890cc parallel-twin produces 121 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque, preserving all of the excitement that made the 890 Duke platform so famous when it first debuted in 2020 on the KTM lineup.

Six-axis IMU, wheel slip control sensor, and pitch angle control sensor help tame the beast with cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control, but it’s still a beast.

The bike has received a slight modification for 2022, with much of the cycle parts, engine, and systems staying the same. For the front, that means Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers mated to an MCS master cylinder and WP Apex suspension as before.

KTM-890-Duke-R-side-profile-static
KTM 890 Duke R side profile

For road and track riding, you’ll have Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres and a set of electronics to keep everything in check.

Additional Track riding mode can get the regular Road, Street, and Rain modes for those who prefer to ride in a more competitive environment. The 890’s nine degrees of traction control slip, switchable anti-wheelie, and additional throttle control settings make it both exciting and accommodating.

This year’s Atlantic Blue livery on the Super Scalpel emphasizes the model’s performance pedigree. The matte blue hue of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R was an inspiration from the RC 16 MotoGP race bike.

KTM’s orange-painted trellis frame makes the 890 Duke R stick out even more from the middleweight-naked crowd thanks to its Grand Prix-inspired color.

KTM-890-Duke-R
KTM 890 Duke R 2022

KTM has yet to release the MSRP of the next 890 Duke R, which will arrive in showrooms in February 2022. The pricing should not be much higher than the $11,999 sticker price of the 2021 model because of the paint change.

Unfortunately, the trickiest riding mode (TRACK) on the 2022 KTM Duke 890 R will still cost money for many riders who want all the bells and whistles.

The feature comes on the bike’s TFT dash, so all you have to do is ask your dealer to unlock it. It’s a shame, really. For review and first look of this beauty keep visiting BikersInsider.

Husqvarna has updated the design of the two street motorcycles for 2022. It has given the Svartpilen 125 and 401 a more stealthy appearance. The bike comes with more blacked-out bodywork, as its moniker, The Black Arrow, suggests.

There’s also a subtle brown stripe beneath the rear seat. Meanwhile, the Vitpilen 401 receives a more elegant colour scheme with hints of white. As it befits its name, Vitpilen translates to The White Arrow.

Sensor-based Vayyar rider aid systems are around the corner.

0

It’s only been a year since the first radar-equipped motorcycles hit the market. Still, new firms have already supplied the technology.

Radar is expected to become the must-have technology on bikes over several years, with newcomers like Israel’s Vayyar entering the market. The stage is set for a tech slugfest that will stimulate quick progress.

While Bosch provided the first front and rear-facing radars installed on production motorcycles, it came with Ducati, BMW, KTM, and Kawasaki adopting the German kit. We already see more companies join in on the fun.

Continental supplied rear radars for Triumph’s new Tiger 1200 GT Explorer. As we wrote last year, Piaggio is due to unveil their first bikes employing Vayyar’s radars.

How Vayyar Kit works?

Vayyar‘s kit differs from the Bosch system so far in that it employs far more antennae than a standard radar. It generates a high-resolution 3D ‘point cloud’ image of the world around it.

It also uses Doppler analysis. The measurement of distortion in the reflected radar waves caused by movement. It is to determine the relative velocity of objects it detects.

Due to the more antennas, the Vayyar radars have a 170-degree horizontal and vertical FOV, which is broader than the radar cone of more typical systems.

Vayyar_Imaging_Radar_on_Chip
Vayyar Imaging Radar on Chip

The sensor’s vertical coverage and broad field of vision are convenient on motorcycles since they prevent the sensor from losing track of an item as you round the bend.

The system also claims to have a far more extensive range than the market-leading Bosch radar. Vayyar’s system detects targets as far away as 300m, compared to 160m for the Bosch front radar. Bikes cannot use the kind of automated emergency braking system. As generally found in radar-assisted vehicles.

Motorcycle brake-assist must be forceful since it may throw the rider off.

The system, which includes front and rear radars, can support blind spot detection. It can also detect lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning. The rider brake assist, according to Vayyar, costs the same as existing radars.

Tech explored

Long-term vision Up to 300 meters is critical for brake-assist. The early warning systems are there to avoid riders panicking.

A broad view With approximately 170 degrees of coverage per radar. Both horizontally and vertically, two units provide 360 degrees of coverage.

sensor-based-rider-aid
Sensor-based rider assistance

Even more antennae Instead of the seven antennae found in conventional vehicle radars. Up to 48 WiFi-style MIMO technologies to detect many targets using Doppler analysis. It is to determine their velocity and direction of movement.

Unless installed on the most costly, out-of-reach motorcycles, small safety gear is useless. Vayyar claims its radars are low-cost and tiny enough to be installed.

Keeping on track Current radars, such as the Bosch MRR (Mid-Range Radar), can track up to 32 targets. Still, Vayyar claims its technology can track an infinite number of targets.

HONDA HORNET 2021 EICMA CONCEPT, RENDERED BY AUTOBY

0

Honda’s next great middleweight streetfighter concept is rendered.

The Honda Hornet the latest concept was a surprise to many during the EICMA 2021 show. European media dubbed it the “next middleweight streetfighter” from Honda.

Hornet is a computer-generated middleweight streetfighter design. It would have no texture if you followed Honda’s presentation of it. The right amount to pique your curiosity and stimulate your senses. I’d say it has some similarities to the KTM 890 Duke R its lines and angles.

honda-cb750s-autoby-render
Honda CB750 Autoby Render

Specific hints drawn from Honda’s presentation were converted in the rendering. The CB750S Hornet is the most likely model designation. Honda’s 755cc parallel-twin engine expect to power the bike.

It will serve as a solid counterpoint to Yamaha’s MT-07. A few European CB600F Hornet design elements, like the small underbelly muffler.

Honda-Hornet-EICMA-concept

The rendering artist also extrapolated the inverted gold forks two-disc brakes. The pointed LED headlight appears to have a less aggressive angle to keep with the genuine Honda Hornet’s design phrasing.

The CB750S Hornet will have Honda’s NC750 family of engines. Honda’s Unicam technology may feature in Hornet’s NC750 engine. So it’s possible that the machine has an upgraded version of the CBR400R’s DOHC parallel twin. Instead, a completely new engine from the brand might power in Honda’s future XL750L Transalp. This adventure bike will likely have the same engine as the CB750S Hornet.

This is excellent news since it makes us even keener about making the renders depict models. Even if Autoby’s rendering comes close to the real thing, It is not a surprise for us. All the way down to the engine case, it’s a beauty.

Though this beauty is just a rendered concept and thanks to Autoby for their effort. If you want to know about more beauties like Honda Hornet then you can check our list of Best looking bikes of 2022.

Indian Scout Rogue 2022 makes its global launch.

0

According to Indian Motorcycle, Scout Rogue will be available later in the year, beginning 2022. Indian Motorcycle unveiled the 2022 Scout Rogue on February 1st, 2022. The most recent addition to the Scout family, the Scout X, went on sale today.

We discovered via VIN files in January 2022 that the forthcoming Scout Rogue would be offered with ABS in 1,133cc and 1,000cc displacements. There are a plethora of Scouts out there, but what makes the Rogue stand out isn’t the features.

Indian Scout Rogue 2022 is indeed a black-on-black activity. Besides the black color scheme, which is available in three distinct shades, it has a cute quarter fairing on the front. We’ll get to the names of those colors in a bit. Despite its intentional meanness, the rounded edges endear it to us like a baby bat.

Additionally, Indian adopted a set of small ape-hanger handlebars. A pair of blacked-out, circular mirrors stand watch. When you’re riding hard, you’ll want a seat that conforms to your backside as a solo sport-style seat does. Blacked-out front wheels are included as well, keeping the bike’s look as vicious as its performance.

Metzeler Cruisetec tires adorn the reels, including a single 298mm floating rotor brake disc at the front and rear to slow you down. The front caliper has two pistons, while the back only has one.

When revved to 8,000 rpm, the 1,133cc V-twin has an output of 94 horsepower, while its most torque is at 97 newtons-meters (71.5 pounds-feet). To begin with, the suspension on the bike comes with a 41mm telescopic fork at the front and dual adjustable shocks at the back, providing a combined journey of 51mm.

The Scout Rogue is available with adjustable piggyback shocks and a tachometer with shift light.

649 millimeters, or 25.5 inches, is the seat’s height in this model. a smidge over 62 inches in wheelbase. There are only 129 millimeters of ground clearance or roughly 5 inches, so avoid driving your Rogue over any particularly steep curbs.

Indian only lists the bike’s dry weight at 241 kilograms (531 pounds).

Yet, this is the finished prototype race-tested in Morocco under real-world conditions. It has been reworked and improved, according to Sherco. This will line up at the start of the Dakar Rally on January 1.

New 450cc Sherco engine, new chassis, new suspension by BOS Mac Racing. It includes a new exhaust by Akrapovic, a new battery by BS-Battery, Michelin tyres. Features Funnel Web air filter, Selle Dalla Valle seat, and an AFAM chain kit are among the major parts of this bike.

Inexperienced riders may find the Sherco 450 SE Racing dirt bike too much to handle. This bike has a lot of power all the way through, and the seating position is really aggressive. It also boasts a sturdy suspension that can handle high leaps without hesitation.

This bike’s enduro racing style lends itself to a wide range of riding situations. We can envision this bike tearing up a closed-course or venturing out into the wild with abandon. It’s a fantastic bike for those who want it all.

9. Beta 430RR-S

The whole line of serious dual-sport bikes manufactured by Beta is the largest and best in the United States at this time. The end. Non-disambiguation and non-disambiguation are not allowed. Even KTM can’t match Beta’s performance compared to other motorcycle manufacturers.

In the dirt bike industry, this is a small Italian company that has been active. Dual-sport, trials, and two-stroke motorcycles are its primary focus. Betas used to be expensive and hard to come by, but that’s no longer the case.

The bike also includes a Trail Tech GPS with Sachs suspension, Synerject EFI systems, and 6-speed transmission as standard. First time on the 430 for us. The Husqvarna FE450, Honda CRF450L, and KTM 450EXC ISDE Edition are its main rivals.

A dirt bike-like feel may be found in the Beta. According to our weigh-in, it’s lighter by 25 pounds than the Honda (252 pounds without fuel compared to 277). A Husqvarna, on the other hand, is a little more portable.

New bushings and anodizing on the fork are supposed to reduce friction. The Sachs ZF rear shock weighs 300 grams less and has a 46mm piston, making it more compact.

Although the Beta isn’t as light as the KTM or Husky, it’s still great in terms of weight. Compared to Honda’s CRF450R motocrosser, it is only 12 pounds heavier and Suzuki’s all-dirt RMX450Z significantly lighter. To put it another way, the Beta is so good as a real dirt bike that it demands a higher level of evaluation.

10. Kawasaki KLR 650

The Kawasaki KLR650 returns for the 2022 model year with significant upgrades. It’s still one of the best buys on two wheels at $6,699!

Once a top seller, the KLR650 was retired due to exhaust emission norms being unable to meet after 2018. Improvements in “improved reliability” (which has never been a concern with the KLR… its picture might also be in the dictionary under “bulletproof”).

The chassis and several components are there to improve handling. It has cargo capacity, vibration reduction, and the charging power of the generator. The bike has greater responsiveness to steering inputs.

It combines a 30mm longer swingarm with a 2mm larger swingarm pivot shaft. It has a 41mm fork with stiffer springs and 7.9-inch travel. As well as a Uni-Trak rear shock with preload and rebound adjustabilities.

For riders’ comfort, they minimized vibrations that come into contact. The seat form, cover, and foam were all revised, including the handlebar and footpeg suberization. The handlebar and footpeg positions are designed outward to make it easier for the rider to vary their position.

Enhanced rear visibility with longer mirror stalks, brighter LED headlights. The bike now features an all-digital odometer and speedometer with its new all-digital instrument panel. As well as dual trip meters and fuel gauges.

11. Husqvarna FE501S

The FE 501 had a displacement of 511cc, despite its name. The additional 61cc is accommodated by modifying the FC 450 motocross engine to have a longer stroke but the same bore. For closed-loop EFI, an O2 sensor is mounted on the header pipe of the FE 501’s exhaust system.

The FE 501s dual sport includes a USFS-approved spark arrestor, but it doesn’t have the same fully controlled silencer as the FE 501s. A reed valve is also included in the airboot to help keep the noise level down.

Even though it has a California green sticker and is legal in all 50 states, this bike has the power of a small tractor. With a 12.5:1 compression ratio and a six-speed transmission, the big-bore Husqvarna is ready for just about any situation.

EPA mandates necessitated engine improvements resulting in a lesser powerband than a 450 motocrosser.

The WP Xplor 48 fork on the FE 501 may be adjusted for compression, rebound, and spring preload. Each of the legs is equipped with an open cartridge-style coil spring. Compression damping is controlled by the left leg, whereas rebound damping is controlled by the right.

Compression damping, rebound damping, and spring preload are all programmable on the WP Xact shock. There is a total of 11.8 inches of suspension travel for front and back (300mm).

For the most part, the stock settings are there to provide a comfortable ride for everyone. However, there are some exceptions to this rule for those who weigh more than 180 pounds and are intermediate or advanced riders, as this bike rides low in the stroke, even for those who weigh less than 170 pounds.

The FE501 chassis is the same as the motocross models except for the larger 2.2-gallon fuel tank. Thanks to the chassis, the additional fuel tank is barely noticeable when riding or standing. A typical non-gripper seat cover lowers the Husky’s seat by 0.4 inches (10 millimeters) compared to the KTM’s.

Riders of all skill levels will benefit from the FE 501’s stock condition, which is best for open trails, relaxed riding, and long-distance rides. Hare and Hound, desert racing, and long-distance races benefit from the Husqvarna.

12. Honda XR650L

The XR650L has developed a cult following in recent years, and I believe this is due to several factors. The aftermarket and do-it-yourselfers have had plenty of time to develop a zillion different upgrades and parts because the bike has remained unmodified for almost two decades.

It was also accessible when it was difficult to get a suitable off-road motorcycle with a license plate. It’s hard to believe that a 644cc air-cooled SOHC single wasn’t as clunky and out of date before the EXC (and similar models). In standard configuration, the XR650L has a classic feel.

With its massive RFVC (Radial Four-Valve Combustion Chamber) engine’s power comes a smooth ride with plenty of torque and an almost impenetrable engine. The narrow, steep single-track trail I was on would have been a major struggle even on a trail-specific bike.

You’d expect a dirt bike with a reported weight of 346 pounds and 13 inches of ground clearance to handle. It’s like attempting to ride a slightly inebriated horse up a steep hill (I would imagine).

It responds slowly to the rider’s input and seems to go where it wants to go. Keeping an eye out for obstructions and curves is essential in narrow routes.

Conclusion

Electric motocross bikes are garnering more attention and opportunity to compete with ice-fueled dirt bikes as electric drivetrains and lithium-ion batteries evolve. This includes KTM Freeride EXC, ZERO FX, and the discontinued Alta Motors Redshift MX electric dirt bikes.

However, these e-dirt bikes can be used on the track to a limited extent. In that regard, the range is important. Some tracks may soon see the return of this type of dirt bike to its proper place.
