We have already covered the rumors of the 2021 update for the Honda CBR600RR not too long ago. Now, the bike is officially revealed, with similarities to the native model, along with some heavy revisions. The revisions should make it better for extreme motorcycle riders.
First of all, the inline four-cylinder engine is placed in an aluminum frame and is 599cc strong. It makes 120 horsepower and 47 lb-ft of torque. The new CBR600RR will weigh 428 pounds (around 194 kg). Its peak power will be 14,000 rpm, and peak torque will be 11,500 rpm.
Even though the engine is heavily based on its predecessor, it features some big revisions like new valve springs, crankshaft, and cams. Along with that, the throttle bodies are larger, and the exhaust is a bit different.
Also, this revision will get the high-tier electronics from the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade bike. Specifically, it will feature Nissan ABS, Bosch five-axis IMU, ride modes, and engine braking. Also, there will be winglets included. According to Honda, the new CBR600RR will have the lowest drag coefficient for its range.
For now, the biggest bummer is that this bike won’t be available in the US market. The motorcycle is also expected to be extremely pricey, as it is tailored for hardcore supersport enthusiasts.
