CFMoto bringing Retro Style To Europe’s Entry-Level Market in 2023, 300 CL-X

China’s CFMoto, supported by a strategic alliance with KTM, has steadily gained market share in Europe in recent years. Even more models from the brand were introduced in 2022 in North America. Those ambitious plans won’t end in 2023 though, as CFMoto has unveiled its brand-new 300 CL-X vintage roadster for Europe’s enduringly popular entry-level market.

Engine

The vintage-style bicycle appears so familiar because it is strikingly similar to the company’s 700 CL-X middleweight model. But the 300 variation is even nearer to the 250 CL-X, which is only available in Asia. The vintage naked bike, which inspires by the CFMoto 300NK, is powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC, 292cc single-cylinder motor that produces 27.9 horsepower (at 8,500 rpm) and 18.4 lb-ft of torque (at 7,000 rpm).

Design and build of 300 CL-X

That dependable thumper fits inside a tubular steel trellis frame as a stressed member when coupled with a six-speed gearbox. These essential parts get supported by CFMoto with a 37mm USD fork and a preload-adjustable rear shock. A 292mm front disc is clamped by a radially mounted caliper on the 17-inch rims, while a 220mm rear rotor supplies some braking power. Thankfully, the 300 CL-dual-channel X’s Continental ABS controls both ends.

The model’s 342-pound wet weight and 31.3-inch seat height make it more appealing to newcomers. In mid-day traffic or winding canyon roads, the CL-agile X’s handling is undoubtedly helped by its 53.7-inch wheelbase. A 3.8-gallon petrol tank will be there to start the neo-retro weekend excursions at this time.

The 300 CL-X comes equipped with technological and mechanical advancements including a slipper and assists clutch and all-around LED illumination while being a newcomer to the small-capacity segment. The 300 trim will release in Nebula White and Nebula Black color variants, just like the brand’s 250 CL-X.

Price and availability

CFMoto delivers the 300 CL-X to Europe with a focus on those who have an A2 license. However, the business hasn’t yet disclosed the model’s MSRP. The 300NK retails for €3,690 (USD 3,800), so we anticipate the retro-inspired roadster to have a similar price when it arrives in dealerships.
