BMW Introduces Its New Adaptive Cruise Tech!

The adaptive cruise control technology is prevalent in the car industry for a while, and now, BMW will be bringing that tech to motorcycles! For starters, this tech is like standard cruise control that utilizes radars and sensors to automatically slow down and speed up automatically without the need for users to touch the controls. While this doesn’t sound safe, the implementation of this tech in cars has proven otherwise.

BMW calls the recently announced tech the BMW Motorrad ACC. The system features three settings that tail the distance from cars or bikes in front of you. It allows you to set yourself several car lengths back and set the speed you want to cling to during the ride. For example, if you want to ride at 120 km/h, you can tell the system how quickly your bike will return to that speed if the car in front of you slows down.

BMW certainly isn’t the first company that is bringing this kind of tech to its motorcycles. Apparently, other big names in the motorcycle industry, such as Ducati, Kawasaki, and KTM, are working on similar tech. We will make sure to cover the other players in their new ventures!
