COVID-19 crisis has paved a way to another complication for motorcycle owners that revolve around warranties. Many countries worldwide have non-essential travel restrictions, and that means that the motorcycle warranties are running out. Some manufacturers, such as MV Agusta, Royal Enfield, and Yamaha, are battling this problem by offering warranty extensions.
The first to jump on this bandwagon is Royal Enfield, with its three-month warranty extension. After this move, Yamaha and MV Agusta followed it in the same manner. The only difference is that MV Agusta is offering this extension period worldwide, while the other two companies only do in specific markets.
For now, these are the first companies to offer this kind of extension. We expect that other motorcycle manufacturers will follow suit, as COVID-19 is still disrupting business worldwide.
When you have concerns about the status of your motorcycle’s warranty, don’t hesitate to contact your local dealership first. With their support, you can probably find the right number to call. If you are in the situation that your local dealership doesn’t operate, try finding some information and contact numbers in your owner manual.
