Aprilia has quite an extensive new lineup for 2021! With Tuono 660 and RS 660 getting all the spotlight, one would easily forget that they have bigger and better brothers in the works – the RSV4 and Tuono V4. These two will arrive in 2021 with some noteworthy updates for base and factory variants.

For refresher’s sake, the philosophy behind Tuono and RS is that they share the same engine, but the main difference is in the aesthetics and styling. Tuono is certainly more comfortable for the everyday riders, while the RS is built for the race tracks.

So, what’s new with these two bikes? First of all, the RSV4 (both base and factory variants) have got a visual overhaul, with the triple LED headlight assembly leading the pack. This new headlight will bend along with the curves of the road to make the path ahead more visible. Also, the winglets have been re-seated so that they can integrate more seamlessly into the fairings.

Due to Euro 5 regulations, the engine has been upgraded from 1077cc to 1099cc and will produce 217 horsepower. The base RSV4 will feature a new, bigger TFT display with an updated electronic control unit. This ECU enables six riding modes and multi-level engine braking, along with the improvements to the ride-by-wire system.

The RSV4 Factory will feature a semi-active Öhlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brakes, along with forged wheels. These three features will greatly improve the track performance of the bike.

When it comes to the Tuono V4, most of the features that we specified above will make their way to that bike too. That also applies to the Factory variant. The main difference between these two bikes is in the engine. Aprilia decided to keep the 1077cc engine in the Tuono V4, which will produce 157 horsepower. So, the main difference is in 43 horsepower.

For now, we don’t have any concrete price numbers on this V4 duo but expect to see a slight increase from the models released last year.
