Husqvarna Unveils the 2022 Svartpilen and Vitpilen

Husqvarna has a lengthy history with the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM. Earlier, the Swedish brand has merged its manufacturing operations with KTM. The two companies now share many platforms.

This has definitely aided Husqvarna in introducing fresh and innovative models. They stand out appearance while being viable for the firm.

The Vitpilen and Svartpilen, based on the KTM Duke platform, are the most popular. Husqvarna has presented its worldwide range for the 2022 model year. The updated naked bikes Svartpilen 125, Svartpilen 401, and Vitpilen 401.

All three bikes are produced in India at Bajaj Auto’s facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. The same facility has KTM’s 390 lines, including the Duke, RC, and Adventure.

The Svartpilen 125 combines components from the KTM 125 family. Such as the RC 125 and Duke 125. It has the same 125cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates 14.3 horsepower. This engine features a six-speed manual gearbox.

Braking responsibilities features a single-channel ABS. It is ideal for young starting riders in European markets.

Unlike their Austrian siblings, the Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen lack an angular appearance. Instead, we get a more understated design with basic body panels. Vitpilen and Svartpilen have very comparable appearances.

There are, yet, subtle differences between the two. The Svartpilen, for example, has a straight and tall handlebar. The Vitpilen, so, has a clip-on handlebar that is lower. The Svartpilen also comes with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for modest off-roading.

Husqvarna has updated the design of the two street motorcycles for 2022. It has given the Svartpilen 125 and 401 a more stealthy appearance. The bike comes with more blacked-out bodywork, as its moniker, The Black Arrow, suggests.

There’s also a subtle brown stripe beneath the rear seat. Meanwhile, the Vitpilen 401 receives a more elegant colour scheme with hints of white. As it befits its name, Vitpilen translates to The White Arrow.
