Honda Files Trademark For The CT125 Trail!

Honda has been an informal arbitrator of small trail bikes for a number of years now; generally small displacement bikes. They are now working on bringing the CT125 Concept unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. Earlier, the firm filed trademark papers for the name CT125. This is a pretty obvious indicator that Honda is at least talking about turning its bike into a production model.

The small bike revolution appears to be going well with the Grom, the Monkey, and the new Super Cub. The CT125 Concept is essentially a Super Cub designed and constructed for off-road rides. It’s a clever upgrade to the Honda range and one that probably wouldn’t have cost the company that much to produce.

Honda already has an esthetic concept in the classic CTs of the 60s and 70s and has a fresh powertrain and architecture to use from the new Super Cub. The motorcycle features a basic, air-cooled 125cc engine with a semi-automatic clutch. This could make the trail ride a lot of fun on the CT125 if Honda chooses to make a production model. I hope the company is going forward with this machine.
