BMW has refreshed their two models – BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, for 2021. Now, they comply with the Euro 5 emission standards, and still offer specs that adventure motorbikers will absolutely adore.
From a visual perspective, the bikes look mostly similar, apart from the new color schemes, including:
- Light White Solid
- Triple Black
- Ice Grey
- Rallye White, Red, and Blue
- “40 Years GS” Black and Yellow
The engine is the same, the 1254cc Boxer, along with the ShiftCam technology. This tech offers a valve lift on the intake as well as variable valve timing. These bikes produce 134 hp at 7,750 rpm as well as 105 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 rpm. The numbers were updated to comply with Euro 5 standards, of course.
Also, there is a new, appropriate riding mode, the Eco mode. The traction control got a revamp, with the ABS Pro being a regular feature now. Also, they included a six-axis EMU that offers better hill-start control and additional traction control.
Lights have also gone through an update. Now, the headlights are adaptive, and they turn into a curve depending on how you control the bike. Turn signals feature LED lights.
Apart from the mentioned updates, the rest of the bikes are the same. This update was mainly targeted to comply with the Euro 5 standards. We don’t know the pricing of the bikes as of now, though.
