2022 Yamaha R7 Launches In June!

We showed you some leaked images of the upcoming 2022 Yamaha R7, and today, the bike has been officially unveiled, with more high-resolution photos of this sports bike! This will be a great bike for all those who want to fill the gap of the discontinued R6 model. Also, all those who enjoy the MT-07 engine will enjoy the R7, which is a more streamlined take on that engine. Let’s dive into all the info Yamaha shared on their official R7 page!

As we mentioned above, the 2022 R7 sports the same engine as MT-07. That means that it’s the 689cc, liquid-cooled, fuel injection twin CP2 engine.

Other notable features include direct-plated cylinders and forged aluminum pistons that decrease the bike’s overall weight but increase its strength. There is also a 270-degree crank that helps produce a sound that sets this bike apart with its uneven firing sequence.

When it comes to suspension, the main highlight is the fully adjustable inverted 41mm KYB fork. There is a horizontally-mounted Monocross single shock with adjustable preload and rebound mounted on the crankcase for better mass centralization.

What about its brakes? Will they do a good job? Oh yes, they will! Yamaha has outfitted the R7 with the Brembo radial brake master cylinder, coupled with 4-piston Brembo front brake calipers with 298mm hydraulic discs.

When it comes to fuel consumption, it will drain 4,9 liters per 100 kilometers (or 58 miles per gallon).

Also, we can see that the new R7 is full of LED lighting, which is pretty common for new bikes. Still, we can see that the styling of this bike distinguishes itself from the MT-07, which is great. After all, we want some novelties on the market!

Now, for the good news. The 2022 Yamaha R7 will arrive at Yamaha dealerships in June. You will be able to choose between Team Yamaha Blue and Performance Black variants, with the pricing set at $8,999/€7,365/£6,333.
