Honda Africa Twin demonstrates that the tricolour is the superior colour.

Honda Red is a totally great colour. It is not too orange or too blue; it is well-balanced. This, like most opinions on aesthetic appeal, is entirely personal and subjective. However, even the most beautiful hue of red (or any other colour, for that matter) can be overwhelming if it is not accompanied by something else that draws your attention.

That’ something else’ could be images, alternate colours, or even graphics in alternate colours. However, unrelieved seas of a single colour, even if it is your favourite colour in the world, can be somewhat monotonous.

However, finding balance can be challenging. Over the years, Honda has frequently struck an outstanding multicolour balance while refreshing its tricolour and slapping it on other motorcycles. For example, Honda Europe has announced that the CRF1100L Africa Twin range will return in 2025.

Perhaps it’s just me, but there’s something comfortable about the Honda tricolour. Or maybe it’s just OEM tricolour schemes in general; BMW’s M tricolour is likewise a popular pattern on the majority of the bikes it appears on. And who has ever had a reason to yell when Ducati puts an Italian flag tricolore on one of its bikes? Nobody, that’s who.

Under the bodywork, the 2025 CRF1100L Africa Twin lineup in Europe contains no new models. Given all of the changes it has received for 2024, this is not very surprising. Riders can still pick between DCT or classic manual transmissions, as well as a fully adjustable Showa suspension or the Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (EERA) suspension, which was introduced for the 2024 model year.

While Honda has provided numerous variations of tricolour designs on the Africa Twin throughout the years, the 2025 version offers a lovely sense of mobility reminiscent of mountain peaks or finding new map routes.

Will it appear dated in a few years? That is uncertain at this time, but maybe it will return and finally appear as vintage as the RD03. What are your thoughts? Please let us know in the comments. For more news and updates keep visiting BikersInsider.
