Along with the announced development of the 750 lineup, KTM seems to be hard at work at developing more entry-level options, in a form of the 490 lineup!
Even now, KTM has a pretty nice entry level lineup, with bikes such as:
- 390 Duke – an all-rounder for all taster
- RC 390 – an entry-level sport bike
- 390 Adventure – a versatile entry-level ADV bike
The wheels are already turning when it comes to the development of the 490 lineup. Bajaj Auto is building a new factory in Pune that is built specifically for the upcoming KTM 490 lineup.
According to our sources, Bajaj Auto expects the new factory to be operational by 2023. It seems that the development of 200 and 390 ranges will move to this factory too.
Other than for the mentioned bike lineups, the factory at Pune will be utilized to develop other premium motorcycles under the Bajaj brand, such as Husqvarna bikes and small to mid displacement Triumph bikes.
