An Updated Honda CB300R Slated For Release In India!

Honda is having a successful run with their CB350 machines (notably the H’Ness and RS) in India over the past few months. After all, the Indian market enjoys a mix of classic styling and modern features, a quality both of the above bikes possess.

But even before the launch of the CB350 H’Ness and RS, Honda had yet another roadster bike with classic styling and modern features – the CB300R. Yet, it had to be discontinued because of the new BS6 emission and safety standards, to which the bike didn’t comply.

The look of this bike was highly stylish, with muscular bodywork and round LED headlight. In India, it was off the shelves for a while, but it’s finally coming back, with some updates!

The 2019 rendition of the Honda CB300R.

First of all, Honda has made some effort to update the 286cc single-cylinder engine of the CB300R. We still don’t know how much power it will produce, but we are expecting it to produce 31 hp, the same as its last rendition.

Some updates to the engine include a brand-new counter-balancer for effortless operation, and an assist-slipper clutch for the six-speed manual transmission of the bike.

The updated Honda CB300R will be sold by the new Big Wing dealerships. These dealerships are responsible for the distribution of premium, bigger Honda models around the country. The reintroduction of the CB300R could mean that Honda might build more Big Wing dealerships around India.

So, how much will the updated CB300R cost? Its expected price in India is around Rs 2,5 to 3,0 lakh. This roughly translates to $3,700/€3,035/£2,608.

We are excited by this news as this was probably the most popular Honda model in India before the introduction of the BS6 standards.
